Welling Launches New-Gen Humanoid Robot Joint Modules: Harmonic & Planetary Lines Cover 3.5–382Nm Torque Range

Welling Parts has launched a new generation of high-precision joint modules spanning harmonic and planetary drive technologies, with torque ranging from 3.5Nm to 382Nm and torque density reaching 100 N·m/kg. Products have entered leading robot manufacturers' supply chains, supporting the humanoid robot industry's transition from pilot production to mass deployment.

Welling Parts has officially launched its new generation of humanoid robot joint module series, covering both harmonic drive and planetary drive technology paths to create highly integrated core motion units.

The harmonic joint modules feature an integrated design that combines a high-power-density frameless torque motor, servo drive, harmonic reducer, and encoder into a single compact unit. The current HBN series covers diameters from 70mm to 142mm with rated torque of 10Nm to 178Nm, while the HLN series spans 40mm to 130mm offering 3.5Nm to 178Nm. Products under development extend further toward miniaturization at 62mm/5Nm and toward high torque at 170mm/382Nm. These modules achieve torque density of 100 N·m/kg and power density of 300 W/kg, equipped with dual 24-bit encoders, supporting hybrid force-position control and a graphical debugging interface. The planetary joint modules similarly adopt a highly integrated mechatronic design—the PHN series offers 50mm to 88mm diameter with 6Nm to 50Nm rated torque, and the PDN series covers 105mm to 126mm delivering 28Nm to 115.5Nm, emphasizing structural rigidity and multi-scenario adaptability.

The humanoid robot industry is accelerating from 18,000 units shipped in 2025 to a projected 62,500 units in 2026. Joint modules, accounting for roughly 40% of total robot cost, are the critical components whose performance and supply capacity directly determine the pace of industry scaling. Repunite has long focused on the independent R&D of high-precision servo motors, joint modules, and motion control platforms, offering end-to-end solutions from motor design to drive control for both harmonic and planetary joints. As the humanoid robot sector enters the crucial 10,000-unit mass production phase, Repunite will continue optimizing torque density and dynamic response performance, supporting downstream manufacturers in accelerating product iteration and scaled delivery.
