Allient Expands ElectroFlux Frameless Torque Motor Series with New 25 mm and 38 mm Compact Sizes for Robotics and Precision Motion

Allient has added new 25 mm and 38 mm sizes to its ElectroFlux Series of frameless torque motors, targeting compact robotics and precision motion applications. The new sizes combine high torque density, PCB stator termination and a frameless form factor that integrates directly into customer products, lowering the design barrier for miniaturized joints and gimbal systems.

According to a report by Robotics 24/7 on August 23, 2026, U.S.-based motion control company Allient Inc. (Nasdaq: ALNT) announced the expansion of its ElectroFlux Series of frameless torque motors with the addition of new 25 mm and 38 mm frame sizes, supporting a wider range of compact robotics and precision motion applications. The series previously covered 25-50 mm frames; with this expansion, OEMs gain further selection headroom for motor integration in space-constrained designs.

The core value of a frameless torque motor lies in integration freedom: the motor supplies only the stator and rotor assembly, while bearings, position feedback and structural interfaces are defined entirely by the machine builder, allowing direct embedding into joints, gimbals or turntable structures. Several key features of the new sizes target exactly this scenario: PCB termination on the stator shortens lead paths and simplifies assembly; the frameless construction makes the motor part of the structure itself; and highly customizable configurations match application-specific torque, voltage and interface requirements.

The addition of the 25 mm and 38 mm sizes expands the ElectroFlux Series to support a wider range of applications across robotics and precision motion, said Robert Mastromattei, Chief Commercial Officer & Group President at Allient. These smaller sizes provide additional options for integrating motors into space-constrained designs where quality, size, performance, and flexibility are key considerations. The series is aimed at robotics, precision instruments, optical instruments and other motion systems that demand compact, high-torque-density solutions; Allient also showcased its components portfolio at Automate 2026 in Chicago.

The growing adoption of miniaturized frameless motors reflects rising demand for component-level integration: the higher the torque density and the deeper the embedding, the more the approach depends on close co-engineering between the motor supplier and the application team.
